#Politics Federal Government Sacks 21 Officials

The Federal Government Of Nigeria Terminated the duty of 21 senior officers of the Federal Airport Authority (FAAN), while 10 General Managers where demoted.

The illegal activities in the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has drew the attention of the Federal Government. this will cause a reduction of the aviation directorate according to the FG's plans.

Some Stakeholders said, "the Federal Government was concerned about the illegal activities in FAAN such as the engagement of about 40 General Managers, the creation of many directorates which has brought about forgeries, duplication of duties, and also raised the monthly expenses overhead to an estimated N800million.

According to the Ministry of Aviation, 'the demotion was necessary because some of the managers were promoted without following due process.

“I do not believe in the concession of the four major airports that we have because I know those four airports are funding the other 18 international airports. Of course you have to look at the issue of workers, and the Nigerian people as a whole.” the committee Chairman (Nkeiruka Onyejeocha) said during his visit by the Committee members to the aviation agencies on Wednesday (Oct. 12) n Lagos, Nigeria.
The Chairman also added that the committee will conduct a public hearing where they will take all the issues together and able to ask Nigerians and the key players in the aviation industry including the workers and even the journalists, to tell them what they think.
