Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' Leads Australian Chart

After 20 weeks, Ed Sheeran “Perfect” (Atlantic/Warner) has finally ascended the chart throne in Australia.

Sheeran’s triple-platinum certified single (210,000 units), which has been revamped and now features vocals from Beyonce, rises 4-1 to match its chart-climbing efforts in the U.K.

It’s Sheeran’s fourth No. 1 single in Australia and follows “Sing” (from 2014), “Thinking Out Loud” (also from 2014) and his 2017 Divide smash “Shape of You,” which stayed at the top spot for a record 15 weeks.

On the ARIA Singles Chart, Sheeran’s “Perfect” dethrones Camila Cabello’s No. 2-ranked “Havana” (Epic/Sony) feat. Young Thug, while Post Malone snags Nos. 3 and 4 with “Rockstar” (Republic/Universal) and “I Fall Apart” (Universal), respectively, as Marshmello x Khalid’s “Silence” (RCA/Sony) improves one place to No. 5.

It’s another solid week for Post Malone who enjoys a top 40 berth with “Candy Paint” lifted from The Fate of the Furious. “Candy Paint” makes its debut at No. 24 for the highest new arrival of the week.

On the ARIA Albums Chart, Pink’s Beautiful Trauma (RCA/Sony) holds top spot for a sixth non-consecutive week, ahead of Sheeran’s six-times platinum Divide in second place.  READ MORE
