Have you ever lived under the threat of something - where there is a looming charge of a landlord waiting to evict you, the police threatening to bring a charge against you, a vindictive boss waiting to sack you or an imminent attack of the enemy on your life? Living with a threat is no life at all. The fear of a thing can be worse than the thing itself. And when you have been delivered, you might still be afraid to rejoice for fear that the deliverance won't last and the affliction might return. You might be afraid to love because it may go bad; afraid to try your heart or hand or courage at anything because you are afraid it may fail.
My friends, remember that ... you obtained an inheritance in Christ and God wants you to be able to enjoy all you have received in Him so He works everything according to the Counsel of His purpose. There is a purpose to everything that happens in your life whether you feel it or not. Whilst you are going through it, it feels like pain and not purpose. But like the Israelites and the Egyptians, God is about to take you through a baptism of water with His word such that anything that chases you into the water will not come out of it with you.
